3 Holiday Wax Crafts
Spread holiday cheer with handmade crafts! Check out three creative projects you can make with wax.
Crayon Candle
Transform broken crayons into a colorful candle. Crayons are made from a combination of paraffin wax and pigments. To make the candle, you’ll need:
- Crayons with the wrappers removed
- A clear jar
- Waxed wick
Place the wick at the bottom of the jar and layer the crayons. You can leave the candle like this, or melt the wax in a 200-degree Fahrenheit oven.
Beeswax Lip Balm
Combine a few simple ingredients to make a moisturizing lip balm. Beeswax is the base of this recipe because it contains natural emulsifiers, which help retain moisture – perfect for dry, chapped lips. You’ll need:
- Coconut oil
- Beeswax
- Honey
- Baking soda
- A small tin
- A microwave-safe bowl
- A fork
- Waxed paper
- Aluminum foil
- Essential oils
Bottle Sealing
Top off your homemade bottled creation with bottle sealing wax. It is available in a wide variety of colors and finishes to create a customized look. Bottle sealing wax can be used on perfume, whiskey, beer, wine and syrup bottles. Bottle sealing wax creates a strong, flexible and secure coating. You can even emboss a logo or image into the wax seal for a customized look!
